Cake recipe
Ingredients:
4 eggs
200g margarine
200g self raising flour
200g caster sugar
2 tsp chocolate orange cocoa powder (or just plain cocoa if you prefer)
Orange marmalade (for filling)
100-120g orange chocolate (for topping)
Buttercream filling
90g margarine
45g of icing sugar (add more to suit your preferred consistency)
Equipment:
2 18cm round baking tins
Instructions:
Heat the oven to 180 degrees.
Mix the sugar, margarine and eggs together.
Sift in the flour and cocoa powder.
Mix well and seperate evenly into the 2 baking tins, bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes or until cooked properly (clean skewer).
When the cakes have cooled on a wire rack mix the buttercream mixture.
Spread a layer of marmalade on the top of one of the sponges and then add a layer of buttercream on top of this, sandwich the 2 cakes together.
Melt the chocolate using your preferred method and pour over the top, allow to drizzle down the sides and leave to cool.
